Established in 1900 to support working women migrating to Bombay, LWH began as a modest refuge for nurses, clerks, and shop assistants. Over a century, it evolved into a vibrant hub for vocational training, cultural exchange, and the famous YWCA Carnivals.
Our home is a “Neo-Classical” heritage building, which means it looks like a beautiful old palace, but inside, it has everything a modern woman needs.

We maintain 24-hour security, controlled entry and exit and a women-only residential environment. Each hostel is supported by wardens and residential staff who supervise daily functioning and are available when needed.
