Moving to Mumbai often means adjusting quickly to a new city, routine and environment. We provide safe, well-managed hostels where working women and students can settle in with confidence supported by structure, supervision and everyday reliability.
Established in 1900 to support working women migrating to Bombay, LWH began as a modest refuge for nurses, clerks, and shop assistants. Over a century, it evolved into a vibrant hub for vocational training, cultural exchange, and the famous YWCA Carnivals.
Our home is a “Neo-Classical” heritage building, which means it looks like a beautiful old palace, but inside, it has everything a modern woman needs.
A stable living environment depends on more than just infrastructure. We ensure that safety, meals and support systems are consistently in place—so residents can focus on work, studies and settling into the city.
We maintain 24-hour security, controlled entry and exit and a women-only residential environment. Each hostel is supported by wardens and residential staff who supervise daily functioning and are available when needed.
Daily life here is supported by systems that ensure consistency and ease. From maintenance to shared facilities, everything is managed so residents can focus on their work, studies and routines without disruption.
Well-maintained buildings with regular upkeep of structural systems ensure functional, liveable spaces.
