What began in 1959 as a response to the need for affordable housing for 30 working women has evolved steadily over the decades. From a small hostel, it expanded into a center for early childhood education, skill-building, and cultural activities. Reimagined in the 1990s as an integrated facility, it was inaugurated in 1998 as a symbol of community support and institutional partnership.
Today, the complex houses the Dipti Dhaman Hostel for working women and the Asha Kiran wing, dedicated to the development of women and children.
It stands as a platform for expression and a vital center for community care, nurturing stronger bonds across Mumbai.
