How YWCA of Bombay Began!<\/h2> <\/div>\r\n \r\n

In India, YWCA\u2019s history dates back to 1875 when the first local association was established in Bombay (Mumbai). This was followed by a formal set-up of the institution in the year 1896 at the National level, the YWCA of India in New Delhi. Having established in 1875, the YWCA of Bombay is one of the oldest non-profit community service organizations for women in India, which is based on the Biblical Principle \u2019Love Thy Neighbour as Thyself\u2019.<\/p>\r\n \r\n \r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

It seeks to bring justice and equality for women across all faiths, cultural, economic and social mileu, whether at home or at the workplace, with special emphasis on the girl child.
