Referrals come mostly from the police, NGOs or institutions.<\/span><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><b>Our shelters provide:<\/b><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A secure accommodation for women at risk of or have been subjected to trauma.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We provide essential aspects of protection, services and resources which enable women to rebuild their self-esteem, and to take steps to regain a self-determined and independent life.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Basic material needs, such as meals, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hygiene- products<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and clothing are taken care of.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Counselling services are provided that improves mental health and life outcomes for women.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assisting women and girls to access economic opportunities and affordable housing is a big challenge and we are committed to work for them. Women who have low educational levels can be part of this programme.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Residents with specific <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">interests<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be sent <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> training in their area of skill.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Preparation to live an independent life<\/span><\/li><\/ul><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><p><b>Implementation<\/b><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Shelter Supervisor can monitor the students enrolled for the course.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Admissions are open to women from nearby slum areas too.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Publicity will be done in the community by the social- worker and through the health centre.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The course teachers will report to the committee.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contact will be established with hospitals\/ old age homes in the locality for practicals.<\/span><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Network with other organisations for training of students interested in specific skills.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Services of Counsellor available at the centre<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Residents are engaged in different activities at the centre for <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">capacity- building<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and increase of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">self- confidence<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
