The YWCA of Bombay being volunteer-based organisation in Mumbai ,aims to create a just and an equitable society by championing community work, advocacy, networking, and leadership of women, young women and children in the communities of Mumbai. This goal is spearheaded by our committed and hardworking Members across the city who work at the grass root level amongst the communities through our various community work, social and advocacy projects, skill training and sustainable development, besides pioneering young girls to be leaders of tomorrow. Being a Member of the YWCA enables you to constructively participate in the implementation of the vision and mission of the YWCA working with its various committees such as the Women’s Development Unit (WDU), Hostels, Public Affairs & Social Issues (PASI), Participation and Involvement of Youth in Action (PIYA), Shelter Homes, Asha Kiran, Public Relations etc.

Apart from contributing to the robust work on community development and leadership, being a Member of the YWCA also enables you to have a fellowship and a cohort of passionate individuals thereby forming strong bonds of sisterhood and friendship. Every year the YWCA of Bombay conducts several programmes which unites its Members for a fellowship. Some of the key programmes are World YWCA Membership Day, Ekta, Senior Citizens’ Fellowship, Evening of Carols during Christmas amongst others.
